A narrated poetic journey to the past of Nenijto, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

A poetic analog animation journey, from the current situation of Nenijto, Rotterdam, which is a sport center.
To the slavery past of the same place, where people were brought from Senegal,
to recreate their village as part of the Dutch exhibition(Nenijto) in Rotterdam in 1928.
they were presented as the "human zoo".
In this video, we tried to address our shocks and emotions, as we go back in time to this event.
Originally, those two videos were presented on two projectors,
projecting on two opposite sides in a room.

This project was made in collaboration with Stadsarchief Rotterdam.

 I animated most parts of the video, and I directed the whole animation flow.

All the frames are animated with crayon colors on paper,
then were scanned and animated digitally.
