Strada
A silent short film created as concert visuals for Robin Veldman’s live violin performance.
The film traces the extraordinary life of Italian Olympic cyclist Alfonsina Strada,
the only woman to compete in one of cycling’s three major stage races. In 1924, she rode the Giro d’Italia after the organizers mistook her for a man,
earning the nickname “The Devil in a Dress” in the newspapers.
I directed and edited the film, working closely with Robin Veldman (production) and a talented team of collaborators.
This project allowed me to explore visual storytelling in tandem with live music, creating a dynamic interplay between image and sound.
The film was successfully integrated into Robin Veldman’s concert tour, performed across various classical music events in the Netherlands.
